It's Electric in Here!

Hi folks! It's been twelve days since my last post, but I have a really good excuse. It's March Madness now, and my goal is to write 10,000 words this month. I have been thankfully and beautifully sucked into my WIP, and I'm hoping this frenzy pays off!

Don't you just love that electric swell of inspiration that coats your insides when you work through a story problem? And how fantastic when your characters begin to come alive and talk to you! I've certainly been experiencing lots of these moments so far. I've also been experiencing some of those beat-your-head-against-the-wall moments, but thanks to my critique group and my friends at #wipmadness, I've found plenty of support, too.

You'll have to forgive my rambling, but I'm on a mission now. And since my WIP takes place in Yosemite National Park, I have lots of beautiful photographs to look at for inspiration. Here's one of my favorites, a view I got to experience every day the summer I lived and worked in the park.

Have any of you been plugging away at your WIPs this month? How are your March Madness goals progressing?

I'm actually within a few scenes of finishing my first draft. Wow. Major rewriting to do, but I've finally learned to love revisions. Good for you for inspiration! Never been to Yosemite. It's on the list.

Hi Lisa,
There's nothing quite like being "sucked into your WIP." That means you'll finish it soon. :)

Good for you!
Diving back into my next book this week now that my insane blog tour is over.

I keep doubting my WIP and wanting to turn to my OTHER WIP. This is my greatest problem...stupid indecisiveness. Despite this, I have been slowly adding to the word count. One day I will finish both of them and get to WIP #3. (Yes, I have a third.) Glad to hear you are rocking it!

You've been flying through this WIP--so glad to hear that you're still loving to work on it! I actually started a new WIP a few days ago, so while I didn't quite make it in time for the March Madness kickoff, it's progressing pretty well so far and I'm pleased. Good luck on the home stretch!

Lisa Ann - did you know you share a name (not last name) with a most interesting person? I get all sorts of hits on your interview from all over the world on the search "Lisa Ann" :0)

How cool that your WIP takes place in Yosemite! I took a vaca there w/my fam when I was just a wee girl. ;) BTW, I have to confess, when I saw your post title, I thought for SURE this was going to be about electrice eels. Hee. Hope you reach your wordage goal!

Um, that was supposed to say "electric eels". I'm sleepy. Can you tell? ;P
